(Pro) New search widget delivers real-time results with AJAX

Elementor's new search widget now uses AJAX to display live results as visitors type, eliminating the need to navigate to a separate results page. The real-time search functionality has been one of the most requested features and ensures that visitors receive instant feedback, improving their browsing experience. The live results are displayed in a looping format and appear as a dropdown box below the search bar as visitors type. This feature greatly improves content search and visitor experience.

Customizable search experience

You can customize everything from the search input field and submit buttons to the looping grid format of the live results. Match placeholder text, icons, and submit fields to your site's design. Additionally, you can control how visitors interact with the search function, such as pressing enter, clicking the search button, or both. The widget's content controls and dynamic filtering options allow for a highly tailored search experience.

Help visitors find what they are looking for

Navigating to the Content tab and enabling live results in the Results section is seamless. Choose the loop template you want for your live results or create a new one using the Theme Builder. Customize the dropdown box layout by setting the number of columns and result items to display at once. You can also set the minimum number of characters required before live results are displayed and customize the “Nothing Found” message. Using queries is essential if you want to filter the results to make it easier for visitors to find exactly what they are looking for.

This feature is enabled by default on all new sites. On an existing site, enable it by navigating to the WordPress Dashboard → Elementor → Features → Enable Search.

Floating Buttons: Increase Conversion and Engagement

The new Floating Button widget is perfect for increasing conversions by linking directly to chats or other platforms. Whether you need a WhatsApp button to start a conversation, a contact button with multiple links, or an info button with important details, this feature offers a versatile solution. You can add these buttons by navigating to the WordPress Dashboard → Templates → Floating Buttons. Click on “Add New Floating Button” and start by choosing a customizable pre-made template.

Versatile contact options

Each template can be customized depending on the content. For example, if you are using a template for a one-on-one chat, you can choose messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS, email, and more. Then enter your information like phone number or email so visitors can get in touch. In each floating button, you can customize the avatar and chat message to personalize visitor interaction.

Make it your own

You can design and maintain brand consistency by customizing the various elements in the Style section, as well as control and customize the entry and exit animations of the floating button. You can also customize the placement of the button from the Advanced tab, making it a prominent part of your website's layout.

Click tracking is another helpful tool that allows you to monitor the impact of your new floating button. You can see click tracking in your floating button list (WordPress Dashboard → Templates → Floating Buttons).

Increase engagement and conversion with display conditions

Elementor Pro allows you to set display conditions to control when, where, and to whom the floating buttons appear. Display conditions allow you to target specific audience segments and ensure that the floating buttons are shown only to relevant visitors. For example, you can include a chat button on all pages or set different chat buttons for the different pages. You can also control the appearance of the button based on the visitor's journey. For example, product pages can display a chat button to answer customer queries about the products, while the checkout page can display a different button for quick support and an incentive to convert.

Each widget is built differently to suit your needs, such as promoting external platforms, organizing your contact links, or showcasing your work.

Nested elements: Advanced layouts with improved performance

In version 3.10 we introduced Nested Elements, which give you more flexible design. By using Flexbox containers, Nested Elements allows you to nest any element inside another. This allows you to create more complex and sophisticated website layouts. However, some users experienced slow editor performance when working on these elements.

To improve this, version 3.23 implemented significant performance improvements and updated the widget's infrastructure so that changes only affect the specific element and do not require the entire widget to be loaded. This optimization improves the editor's interaction time by 60% to 98%, allowing you to create complicated designs faster and ensuring a smooth editing experience.

To enable nested elements, navigate to WordPress dashboard → Elementor → Features → enable “Nested Elements”.
