Get a better overview of the performance of your campaigns and donations

One of the most requested features recently has been for Charitable users to be able to quickly and easily get a better overview of the success of their various campaigns. Charitable 1.8.1 introduces two features to help users do this: (1) an improved admin dashboard and (2) Reports with different reports for Lite and Pro users.

New dashboard!

In Charitable 181, a new dashboard gives you the ability to better understand your campaigns and donations at a glance

Charitable has replaced its “Welcome” dashboard with a screen that lets you see several helpful things at a glance:

Here are some of the common blocks available to you:

Quick overview – See how much money your donations have brought in, the average donation amount, the number of donors and the amount of refunds within the time frame. The default time frame is 7 days, but you can customize this view to 14 or 30 days.

Interactive graphics – See visually how many donations you have received in a clear timeline.

Latest donations – View recent donations and a brief summary of each donation (campaign, method and amount).

Top campaigns – Keep track of your most active campaigns with total donations, total number of donors and overall progress.

You also have the option to print the dashboard section (many browsers also allow printing/downloading as a PDF). Finally, we have provided helpful support and documentation links here on this dashboard and will update these sections as new versions of Charitable come out.

New reporting area!

In Charitable 181, the Reporting Overview section provides a breakdown of donations to give you a better overview of your campaigns' overall daily performance.

One of the most frequently asked requests was about improving reporting. The creation of the Reporting tab in Charitable 1.8.1 is in response to your feedback and we can't wait to continue improving this for you!

An overview page introduces some features of the new dashboard, but goes further and offers:

Breakdown of donations – View your total donations and refunds day by day and download a CSV file.

activity – A new concept for Charitable is tracking the actions you and donors take during campaigns. In 1.8.1, you will be able to see various actions related to donations and campaigns (look out for more activity in future updates).

Biggest Donors – Review the report to see the top donors for the period, so you can potentially reach out to those donors to thank them or communicate further.

Payment methods – Get an idea of your most popular payment methods, including manual or offline donations.

Advanced features for Pro users

Along with this update, Charitable has introduced additional reports for Pro users.

Progressive – This section contains reports that provide more detailed and deeper insights into your campaigns. The first offering in this section is the LYBUNT and SYBUNT report. LYBUNT stands for Last year, but unfortunately not this yearwhich means that the donor supported your organization in the last fiscal year but did not donate again this year. SYBUNT stands for Any year, but unfortunately not this yearThese reports are popular with nonprofits looking to manage their donors.

activity – This page gives you a chronological “heads up” on what's happening on your site. This allows you to quickly see if a particular campaign is suddenly receiving donations or gaining popularity – and act accordingly. Keep an eye on this tab to see more activity from our third-party add-ons and plugins in the future!

Donors – Charitable offers three simple but important reports for Pro users in this section: Top Donors, First-Time Donors, and Returning Donors.

The First-Time Donors report is available to Pro users and allows you to easily see which donors are new to your campaigns. You can use it to find out where your traffic is coming from or to thank first-time donors for their support.

More improvements coming soon!

We are already working on updating some of our most popular add-ons to connect to these screens. We look forward to providing new reports and features for add-ons, such as Regular donations, ambassadorAnd Easy updates. We appreciate your patience while we complete this process.
